American Dog Faithful Dog Fire Hose

I'm disappointed to write that I had higher expectations for this toy. I've seen similar ones that my kids' boxers have played with, and while they chewed up the canvas handle, the fire hose remained intact. That was the other brand. So I was hoping the Dogtuff version of that toy would outlast the chewing phase my 1-year old dog is in. I bought two of them, they're not cheap, and you get what you pay for, right?

Cooper put a hole in the fire hose material in three days, in both of the toys. He's an enthusiastic chewer - the reason why I shopped for some really tough toys - but these were no match for him. On the positive side, he LOVED them, He and his fire hose were inseparable for those three days.

There's no need to throw the whole company under the bus for the failure of one product, so I bought two more toys, one of which we gave to him, and he also loves that one. So far (a week), it has stood up to him, and I am hopeful. The other toy is on hold until we need to give it to him.

Customer service recommended the two replacement toys - thanks! It would have been a nice gesture to get a discount on those, especially after I had described how disappointed I was in the fire hoses.

One change I would make is to rate the fire hose a few notches lower on the toughness scale.
